The volume of water in a bucket is an accumulation of drops of water in the same bucket. The christian walk is a journey marathon and not a sprint. Therefore, consistency must be inculcated to make a success out of your christian walk.
Today, we will take a look at areas of our christian life where consistency is key to success:
Jesus said men ought always to pray and not to faint. It is required of us to lay hold on God’s promises and stay with them until these promises are birth into reality. Some of the scriptural references below attest to the need for consistency in prayers
Luk 18:3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.
Luk 18:5 Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.
Luk 18:7-8 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? .I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
Spiritual growth is not a one time affair. It involves a consistent denial of our former thought patterns and taking up new ones from the word of God. We are to effect our growth by a consistent fellowship with the word and spirit of God as we continually separate from the world with all its contamination.
As we behold (not once or twice but consistently) him as in a mirror we are transform from glory to glory as by the Spirit. (2 Cor 3:18)
Jude 20 Building (consistently) up your most holy faith praying In the Holy Ghost
Jesus set us a perfect example in obedience. He kept obeying God until his purpose was fulfilled. He obeyed until our redemption was complete and sealed. He didn’t draw back. We should follow the example of Jesus. Your obedience yesterday will not count if you don’t obey today. Consistent obedience takes you to your destination, one step at a time.
1 John 2:6 “whoever claim to have Christ must walk as he walked”. Christ obey God even unto death on the Cross.
The law of abundance in the spirit recognizes consistency. Your tithing must be consistent. It must never stop if you want to reap great harvest. Giving to the necessity of the Saint must be consistent…
Galatians 6: 9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Proverb 21: 21 He that follows (consistency ) after righteousness and mercy findeth life, righteousness and honour.
