THE RESPONSIBILITY OF PRAYERS

1.Now at that time Herod[Agrippa I] the king [of the Jews] arrested some who belonged to the church, intending to harm them.
2 And he had James the brother of John put to death with a sword;
3 and when he saw that it pleased the Jews, he proceeded to have Peter arrested as well. This was during the days of Unleavened Bread [the Passover week].
4 When he had seized Peter, he put him in prison, turning him over to four squads of soldiers of four each to guard him [in rotation throughout the night], planning after the Passover to bring him out before the people [for execution].
5 So Peter was kept in prison, but fervent and persistent prayer for him was being made to God by the church.
6 The very night before Herod was to bring him forward, Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains, and sentries were in front of the door guarding the prison.
7 Suddenly, an angel of the Lord appeared [beside him] and a light shone in the cell. The angel struck Peter’s side and awakened him, saying, “Get up quickly!” And the chains fell off his hands. (Acts 12:1-7)

From the above scripture, it is evident that the devil does not know how to stop. He is always out to ensure the will of God is not done. James was taken and killed. An apostle was lost and nobody felt offended by the move of the devil. The devil thought he had the liberty to hunt down the carriers of the gospel one at a time and he took Peter.

The church suddenly woke up and saw what the devil was doing and they enforced the will of God. Jesus said Peter is the rock on which the church stand but that will not happen if he was killed by Herod. They understood what Jesus had said about Peter and knew his death was not the will of God. They prayed and enforced the deliverance of Peter. If they had not prayed, God would not have taken that responsibility for them. If you don’t pray and enforce your redemption mandate, life will be horrible and full of troubles. Troubles come in life but prayer knocks them out of our way (James 5:13) and delivers victory to us.

The truth is the devil is ready to rob you of your rights. He doesn’t want any dividend of redemption to reach you. He just wants the will of God ineffective in your life and it is up to you to either tolerate him or enforce the will of God for your life. When we pray, we say no to the devil and yes to God. The responsibility of prayers is on you. It is your responsibility to know the will of God and enforce it in the name of Jesus
