YOUR INHERITANCE WAITS

And now I commend you to God [placing you in His protective, loving care] and [I commend you] to the word of His grace [the counsel and promises of His unmerited favor]. His grace is able to build you up and to give you the [rightful] inheritance among all those who are sanctified [that is, among those who are set apart for God’s purpose—all believers] (Acts 20:33 AMP)

Every child of God has an inheritance (rights, privileges and possessions). God has blessed us with every blessing. Reposed in our redemption is unlimited advantages. These advantages are meant to distinguish us, allow us fulfill our divine mandate and make us enjoy our lives. This inheritance is a concluded matter. We have it already. It is our present possession. If we have been loaded with the benefits of redemption, why do some christians live ordinary if not downtrodden lives. The answer is simple. They are either don’t know what belongs to them or they don’t know what to do lay hold on them. Our father, out of his love, has given us to key tools that we must engage if we will not fail to enjoy our inheritance.

First, the word of God is an essential tool in accessing our inheritance. The Bible is the will of God. Like the will written by humans, the bible states to us what belongs to us and clearly states our responsibilities concerning every portion of our inheritance. We study the bible to know the will of God. You cannot go around claiming what God has not given to you. It is foolishness.

Despite seeing the provision of the will of God, such provision remain a charade until you meet the criteria set by the word of God. The bible is not meant to be memorised, it is meant to be obeyed. You find out what God wants and you do it. Once you meet the criteria, your inheritance drops. The power of the word of God lies in obedience and practise.

For ezra had set his heart (resolved) to study and interpret the Law of the LORD, and to practice it and teach His statutes and ordinances in Israel (Ezra 7:10)

Ezra had the right attitude to the word of God. You need such an attitude to take delivery of your inheritance. You must resolve to see all the will of God fulfilled in your life. You dont want to leave any portion behind. Take courage and do the word of God. Until you do take action on the word of God, you inheritance keeps waiting. God is waiting for you to do the right thing. Beyond the shores of obedience lies your inheritance. It is yours, take it.
